Look Up!

The interiors in our Eldritch Ballroom were salvaged from a now demolished Masonic Temple in Pittsburgh. In the 1930s, it witnessed some of the last great American magic.

Our effort to do justice to that ritual space guided the renovation of our entire building.

The salvaged materials themselves and a few barely remembered plans provided some guidance for our recreation; but, certain features were never documented, and any witnesses are now inaccessible.

For example, we cannot know what signs and sigils had been inscribed upon the ceiling.

We conservatively decided to simply paint the ceiling white, but the decision has never really sat right with us.

Last month, with the help of Bradbury & Bradbury and Rizzo Brothers Painting, and at the cost of Augur‘s ankle ligaments, we realized a more interesting choice. Our ceiling is now home to one thousand or so stars meticulously printed in Estonia.

We hope that the next time you’re in the shop you look up and enjoy them as much as we do.
