Yale Secret Societies
Belief has power, and much of the world believes that necromantic horrors and global conspirators dwell within the windowless clubhouse tombs of Yale’s oldest secret societies.
The reality is more banal, but at least as terrifying. It involves chatty overachieving college seniors having dinner and . . . talking about themselves.
Because reputation does matter, university administration has spent the last couple of decades undermining the prestige of these organizations.
Surprisingly, it’s done that by encouraging more to form. There are now at least several dozen societies, and membership in one is as common and as meaningless as being in chess club.
At least that’s what you’re supposed to believe.
We refuse to give up hope for necromancy and global conspiracy, primarily because it seems like a waste for buildings this cool to be biographical dinner clubs.
While you probably won’t be going on a tour of any of these tombs, you don’t need a trust fund or perfect SAT scores to indulge your taste for dark academia at Hierophany & Hedge. All you have to do is check our hours.
